How to organize a trip to Ethiopia? Travelling independently or with private tour? And in the latter case how much would it cost?
These are legitimate questions that everyone, I for one, asks, especially when you do not have the faintest idea of where you will go, what you will do and in what new world you will venture.
I traveled in Ethiopia for two months, from the extreme south to the extreme north, and although I believe that Ethiopia can be travelled independently ( the Omo Valley and Danakil are the exceptions ) it is also true that it is a hard journey, even when organized by agencies, long, and that independently requires at least five weeks of intense travelling.
An adventurous journey , without great comforts and that requires a great spirit to adapt, even when organized by agencies.
I know Ethiopia very well and during my trip in this wonderful land more and more people have asked my help in order to be able to discover the mysterious and ethnic Ethiopia, of which little is known and from which big surprises are reserved .
Thanks to the collaboration of an attentive and caring young guide, from Addis Ababa ( Nurelegn ) who has been working in the field of tourism for years, the first travelers have already been there and have come back happy and satisfied of the experience made, having met the right balance between expense and itinerary that suited their needs perfectly .
Because it is a wonderful country that holds many surprises, because it is the home of the largest number of ethnic groups in Africa, because a trip to Ethiopia will seem like having done 4, because here even if you do not go on safaris you can live in close contact with the tribes, really and traditionally get to know them and stay in touch.
Because here you can reach the deepest and most inhospital place in the land, see the lava bubbling in a lake of lava or find yourself in the markets of Africa the biggest and the most picturesque of the black continent.
I feel sure that a trip to Ethiopia will exceed expectations especially if thought up according your own interests and desires of discovery.
The trip to Ethiopia can be organized independently but it will be be tough , especially if you have little time and have never traveled to Africa independently , not only that, there are areas where the presence of guides is compulsory, such as the Omo Valley the Danakil where guides and private transport are required.
Thanks to partnership with local agencies based in Addis and friendship with members of the tribes of the Omo Valley , I can help those who wish to travel through Etipia , without mishaps and following a route realistic and practicable in the fixed days but above all a route that can give a unique travel experience.
All routes are unforgettable, but probably the best time to visit the Omo Valley is in October, after the rainy season, the months when some roads are impassable, and so also for the Danakil where temperatures have not yet reached exaggerated high.
Ethiopia is very large and if you have only two weeks it won’t be possible to cover the entire country, usually the choices are mainly two: North circuit or Historical and South circuit , of the tribes of the Omo Valley . For those who have a few days longer we recommended to extend the travel to Harar .
